Jamsill Guard® 2-Step Installation
STEP 1: Fit the Jamsill Guard® to your door or window sill.
Step 2: Apply PVC cement and put the center section of the Jamsill Guard® in place.
Most door and window leaks originate at the bottom corners where the Jamb and Threshold join together. Jamsill Guard® sill pans are designed to prevent damage you can see like buckled hardwood floors and soggy carpet, and also worse things you can’t see like dry rot and mold.
How does it work? Won’t a couple tubes of caulking work instead?
No, caulking has its place in installations but you shouldn’t rely on just caulking for a weatherproof installation. It provides a better seal than a big messy bed of caulk.
When Doors and windows start to leak at the lower corners where the jamb and threshold meet, the Jamsill Guard® unique one piece injection molded corners completely wrap the sub-floor and framing protecting your carpets, hardwood and rough framing from any potential damage. The Center section is joined to the ends with PVC cement to create a one piece sill pan that is an impenetrable barrier against leaks.
Made of PVC? Won’t it crack?
No, Jamsill Guard® is made from extremely
high impact resistant ABS plastic. You can throw it in
the freezer and hit it with a hammer, maybe even run over it with your truck, and it won’t crack or shatter like other PVC products.
